Application and advantages
This product is one of the most common rubber vulcanizers. Since acid can delay rubber vulcanization, sulfur powder should not contain acid.
This product is easily soluble in natural rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber at room temperature, and is insoluble in stereoregular polybutadiene rubber and cyanide-butadiene rubber. As the temperature increases, its solubility in rubber increases.
In soft rubber, the dosage is generally 0.2 to 5.0 parts; when making hard rubber, the dosage can be as high as 25 to 40 parts. Colloidal sulfur can be used as a vulcanizing agent for latex products due to its slow precipitation rate and uniform dispersion.
