The Latin American Coatings Exhibition (LACS 2024) will be held in Mexico City from July 23-25, 2024. The organizer of the exhibition, ANAFAPYT (National Association of Paint and Ink Manufacturers), under the auspices of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Uruguay six countries composed of LATINLIN (Latin American paint and ink technology manufacturers Alliance). The exhibition is held every two years, and has been successfully held for 17 sessions, and has become the largest paint raw materials and equipment exhibition in Mexico and even Latin America. In 2022, the exhibition scale will exceed 7,000 square meters with more than 100 exhibitors. There are more than 7,000 visitors from 22 countries such as Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Europe and the United States to visit the exhibition.
As a member of the G20 and one of the major emerging market countries in the world, Mexico has experienced rapid economic development in recent years, and its market scale is expanding day by day. In 2022, Mexico's GDP reached $1.41 trillion, an increase of 3.3% year-on-year, leading the entire Americas. The Mexican market also has a great demand for Chinese products. At present, China is Mexico's second largest trading partner in the world, and Mexico is China's second largest trading partner in Latin America. Since the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership under the "Belt and Road Initiative", the bilateral trade volume of goods between Mexico and China reached 130 billion US dollars in 2022, a record high.
In the next few years, Mexico's construction industry will still grow at a rate of about 5%, of which residential construction and infrastructure are the most important areas of investment, and there is a lot of room for development. The demand for products from upstream and downstream industries (such as coatings, paints, etc.) closely related to the construction industry is huge, and it is a good time for Chinese enterprises to explore the American market.
